#Wait, #What?!? I never knew that about Bing Search…

… but as of 10/21/2011, you’re limited to 150 usable characters per search request.  O_o

I’m not kidding. I searched for the following string and got 8,250 results that were all over the place…

Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {00061033-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

… but when I shortened it to the following 125 characters I got a much tighter and applicable search result…

“failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).”

Interesting “article” about employee virtualization

Over the years I’ve learned to take most “news” outlets with a grain of salt. This source is one of those instances.

Sometimes, however, they hit the nail on the head… and instead of regurgitating well-known fact they bring a useful bit of information to the forefront. I’m not yet so convinced that this is as widespread as they imply; case in point, the sample used isn’t detailed and we can’t see just made up this “over 270 participating organizations”.

Anyway, draw your own conclusions.

Ok, it’s not really live (seeing as how my presentation was on 10/1/2011), but you get my drift.  🙂

Here’s the content of my talk. I expect to do a post on these at some time in the near future, but 95% of them are completely self explanatory.

  1. Visual Studio Tips and Tricks – PowerPoint v2003 (and later)
  2. Visual Studio Tips – Word 2007 (and later)

Happy Coding!
